Look, we now live in a world where Rachel Dolezal (a very white woman) can 'self identify' as black; Bruce Jenner (a burly lantern-jawed bloke) can self-identify as a rather ugly woman, and Tom Cruise can self-identify as a level 6 operating Thetan.
Nothing bad happens to these people. Dolezal, despite being an obvious and egregious fraud, still has her job as a black advocate. Bruce Jenner is worshipped for his 'bravery'. Cruise is still a powerful man in Hollywood.
